401(k) Retirement Investment Plan
Save for retirement and save on taxes. Now that’s a true win-win. After eligibility requirements are met, you are automatically enrolled unless you opt not to participate. You can select from a wide range of investment options. HANDY Distribution matches .50 cents for every $1 you contribute, up to 6% of your pay in pre-tax, after-tax deductions, which gives you a 50% return on your investment. Just a little extra security from us to future you. You are fully-vested after 3 years of service.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Any employee eligible for health care benefits can also enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Contribute to it on a pre-tax basis and use the account to cover out-of- pocket costs like deductibles, co-pays, even dental and vision expenses. You may also defer funds into a dependent care spending account to pay for daycare expenses that are necessary in order for you (and your spouse, if applicable) to be employed.
Health Savings Account
You can set aside money in a Health Savings Account (HSA) if you participate in a Consumer Driven Health Plan. An HSA is similar to an FSA in that you are eligible to pay for health care expenses with pre-tax dollars. There are advantages of an HSA: No “use it or lose it” rule, money carries over year to year, you may change your payroll deduction election at any time, the account is owned by you; it goes with you if you change jobs or retire, and money can be invested much like 401(k) funds.
Disability Insurance
In the event you become disabled from an injury or illness, disability income benefits could provide you peace of mind as a source of income. HANDY Distribution provides full-time employees with short-term disability income benefits and pays the full cost of this coverage.
Employees also have the opportunity to purchase long-term disability coverage and HANDY Distribution pays 50% of the cost.
Life Insurance
Basic life insurance is provided to eligible full-time employees up to the plan maximum amount and HANDY Distribution pays the full cost of this benefit. Additional life insurance is available for purchase through payroll deduction for you and your dependents.
Optional Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
AD&D insurance is available for purchase through payroll deduction for you and your dependents. Evidence of insurability is not required if enrolled during time of hire.
Accident Insurance
Protect yourself and your dependents in the event of an accident. Accident Insurance may cover expenses like lost income, child care, deductibles, and co-pays for covered individuals. Benefits are payable directly to you, there are no health questions or pre-existing conditions limitations. What’s more, all family members covered are eligible for a wellness-screening benefit, also paid directly to you once each year per covered person.
Critical Illness
Critical Illness insurance can be used when you or an enrolled dependent is diagnosed with a covered condition, you can receive a cash benefit to help pay unexpected costs not covered by your health plan. This benefit can be used to help with related expenses like lost income, child care, travel to and from treatment, deductibles and co-pays.
